High Cost of Health Care Coverage
I don’t know if you’re like me, that family means more to me than anything else in this world. I am always striving to be sure that my family is taken care of, that they eat well, try to make them warm when they are cold, try to make them cool when they are hot. It’s just what I do! We’re struggling right now because of the economy. Neither my husband nor I have family health insurance coverage so I feel as though we are walking on egg shells when it comes to our health. The cost of coverage is so expensive that we just cannot afford it from month to month. The insurance that’s offered through our employers comes with a very high price tagged. For a family of four, insurance coverage is almost $700 per month and when you’re not making very much money to begin with that certainly eats into your income. I know that we must find a solution to this dilemma but I get so exhausted pouring over information with regard to private healthcare that sometimes I just throw my arms up in the air and decide that I’m not going to think about it today. I know that’s the wrong attitude to take for someone who care so much about their family, but it is very frustrating. Trying to find affordable health insurance makes me feels like I’m going down with the sinking ship.
If we’re having this much difficulty in the prime of our life I can’t imagine what will happen when we reach retirement age. I know that I watched my mom struggle with regard to her health care coverage when she reached retirement. Trying to make ends meet for her was a very difficult situation. Of course at that time we had never heard about Medicare supplement insurance. If we had I know that her later years in life would’ve been much more enjoyable. The stress would’ve been taken away if we would have been able to get her a gap Insurance policy. With my in-laws approaching their retirement years my husband and I have looked into additional insurance coverage for them once they reach retirement age. We’ve researched all the supplemental health insurance plans to be sure that we are well educated and have found that each supplemental plan from A through J are exactly the same regardless of which carrier you choose to go through. So the only thing that we will have to do is do a cost comparison to be sure they’re getting the best coverage available for the best monthly premiums. In addition we will be able to get cost-effective Medicare part D coverage for them as well.
Since all the plans are exactly the same we will be able to take care of this process from the comfort of our own home simply by going online or calling 1-800-MEDIGAP and talk to anyone of the trained professionals to determine which plan will be right for my in-laws. At least I’m at peace with one issue that I’m dealing with, now I just need to concentrate on what’s best for my own family.
